Wing Sing Dim Sum sits amid the bustling streets of San Francisco’s Chinatown, serving up a straightforward, no-frills dim sum and Cantonese dining experience. This spot caters mostly to those looking for quick, affordable bites rather than a leisurely sit-down meal. Its location on Stockton Street means it’s often busy midday, especially with locals and visitors who want to grab familiar dishes without the wait times or fuss of larger dim sum halls.

The atmosphere leans toward functional and casual — the kind of place where you can pop in for a takeout order of baked or steamed buns, shumai, or rice rolls, then enjoy them on a nearby bench or back at the office. There is seating available for those who want to eat in, but it’s basic and practical, without much in the way of ambiance or décor to slow you down.

The menu showcases a range of classic dim sum staples — from pork and BBQ buns to shrimp dumplings and lo mai gai — with prices that reflect the neighborhood's focus on value. Notably, the baked char siu bao stands out with its soft, slightly sweet crust that resembles a pineapple bun top, a twist appreciated by repeat visitors who grab these as a portable snack. Rice rolls and sticky rice dishes offer heartier options, though some find the rice rolls a bit dense.

Wing Sing suits people who want a quick, authentic dim sum fix without frills, ideal for solo diners, small groups in a rush, or anyone craving old-school Chinatown flavors on a budget. Weekday lunchtimes tend to be the busiest, while early evenings can be quieter, making it easier to snag a seat. If you’re after variety, the spot covers a good range of steamed and baked treats, as well as cold appetizers like chicken wings, fitting well into the grab-and-go rhythm of daily Chinatown life.

Every time I stop by this place,I pick up 1 or 2 of their baked char siu bao. I usually finish them before I can walk 2 or 3 blocks away but hey they're meant to be enjoyed. It's not a typical char siu bao because this one has a sweet soft white crust on top that's almost reminiscent of a pineapple buns top. It costs $2 each and it's worth a try if you want to experience a variant on the char siu bao. The ladies working there are friendly and efficient. It's a small shop so it's best as a grab and go place.

Food were cheap & tasty, however the Steamed Rice Rolls were a bit too thick. They have rice dish with choices starting from $8.50 USD which is such a great deal! Love that they have some seatings to dine in. The lady who served us was really nice.

Outstanding value for the quality. I won’t say it’s the best dim sum you’ve ever had but it’s solid. Super cheap and delicious.

Visited in December 2024, looking for flaky fried taro dim sum. When we inquired about the taro, we were told that they did have the dish. It was in the wrong form: steamed skin instead of fried with flaky edges The steamed taro dumpling with ground meat is okay, not amazing. The right filling, but we wanted the fried ones. We had just purchased multiple boxes of dim sum from 2 other shops so we didn't try anything else. Maybe next time. Cash payment.

Trust me. Asian flavors at its best. Be surprised with real Asian hustling and bustling. If you're looking for top service, you won't get it here. Pay the price and go elsewhere. Cash only. Tons of dishes to choose from. Tons of dim sum as well. White rice with 3 entrees, $5.50!! Dim sum rarely more than $3. A hearty meal for 3.....<$26! Where do you find such deal post COVID?? If you like the information, please "like". Thanks
